Abstract: Forthenumericaloptimizationanalysisonthefoldinganddeploymentprocessofthesolarsailmembrane,askewleafoutfoldingpatternwasfirstlyproposedbasedontheleafinandleafoutfoldingpatterns.Fivefoldingmodelswithdifferentfoldingparameterswerebuiltuponthethreefoldingpatterns.ThefiniteelementsoftwareANSYS/LSDYNAwasusedtosimulatethedeploymentofthesefoldingpatterns.Theresultshowsthatsolarsailmembranestressalongthedeploymentprocessisrelatedtothedeploymentspeedandfoldingwidth.Theareaclosetothevertexofsquaresolarsailmembranehasthehigheststress,andshouldbereinforced.Theskewleafoutfoldingpatternisthemostappropriatefoldingpatternforthesolarsailmembrane.
