Abstract: MicrowavepowertransmissionservedasthecoretechnologyoftheSpaceSolarPowerSatellite(SSPS)wasstudied.Therectifyingsurfacewasresearchedbasedontheconceptofperfectlymatchedlayertosolvetheproblemthatbeamcollectionefficiencywoulddeclinewithdistanceawayfromtransmittingantennabecauseofthespreadofbeam,bychangingperfectlymatchedlayerstructureconjugatematchbetweenantennaoutputimpedanceandrectifiercircuitinputimpedance.Therectifyingsurfaceexhibitsastrongrestraintohighorderharmonics,withouttheneedofRFfilterwhichisanimportantelementforthetraditionalrectenna,sothecircuitstructureissimpleandhighconversionefficiencyenergycanberealized.Andundertheproposedlimitforthecenter-of-beampowerdensitytoassureenvironmentalhealthandsafetyformicrowavetransmission,anexperimentalsystemwithsolidpoweramplifierat5.8GHzwasconstructedandtested,andthemaximumconversionefficiencyis57.7%.TheexperimentresultsshowthatthedesignedmicrowavepowertransmissionsystemisbenefitforgrounddemonstrationtestinginminiatureversionandbuildingofSSPSinfuture.
